PATH Street Outreach Video Series
The PATH Street Outreach Video Series has three short videos that explain some of the theory and practice of street outreach. HOPES uses these are part of our street outreach orientation. There are some difference between how outreach is done in the video, filmed in Venice Beach, California, and how we do it in Racine, Wisconsin. One of the main differences is that they are conducting outreach during the day, while HOPES almost always does outreach at night. Despite this difference, the videos accurately depict street outreach and gives excellent insight into how we go about meeting people where they are on the streets. It is definitely a valuable part of our orientation.
PATH stands for Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness, a program that helps people experiencing homelessness who also have a mental health challenge. HOPES Center’s street outreach work is partially funded by PATH, as well as foundations such as the Forest County Potawatomi Foundation, Catholic Community Foundation, Racine Community Foundation, Green Bay Packers Foundation, and local supporters who provide financial support as well as blankets, socks, food and other items in-kind.
